American carmaker GMC is famous for its innovative, powerful, bold, and high-quality pickup trucks. They delighted us with many excellent vehicles over the years, but it seems that their surprises will continue for the 2017 model year. Namely, the carmaker is working on the next generation Sierra HD Denali. You probably wonder what else the carmaker can make to the HD Denali since it is already perfect. However, the carmaker found a way. The thing is that they will make all of the, otherwise optional equipment, standard on the next generation Denali. Therefore, the 22-inch wheels, four-wheel-drive system, and power-folding moonroof will all be standard. The 2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali will come with some visual updates on the front and rear end, but the remainder of the overall design will be carried over. The carmaker believes that the newcomer will be sold in no time and that it will bring great profit to them.
Exterior of 2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali
Even though the changes on the new model are not drastic, they will make the new 2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali more attractive and charming. The newcomer will boast newly designed headlights, taillights, and bumper. All of the changes will give the vehicle more sophisticated and premium look. The side profile of the vehicle will remain unchanged. On the other hand, the only change on the rear end is a pair of newly designed taillights. The rear bumper, tailgate and bed remain unchanged. Simply put, the only major change over the previous generation is that optional features for which you had pay additional costs before are now all standard. Let’s check what the carmaker changed on the interior.
2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali Interior
Yes, the cabin of the 2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali is carried over too. Design wise, everything is typical GMC’s. Oh yes, we almost forgot to mention the redesigned armrest with a built-in wireless phone charging. And that’s it. The only novelty inside of the cabin is that you won’t longer have to deal with all that mess and cables and wires while driving. In terms of technology, the carmaker added IntelliLink software with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You just need to plug a device in numerous USB ports and you can enjoy the infotainment system.
GMC Sierra HD Denali 2017 Engine
Powering the 2017 GMC Sierra HD Denali will be the mighty 5.3-liter V-8 with power output of 355 ponies and 383 pound-feet of torque. We’re glad to tell you that the 5.3-liter power unit is not the only engine option. Well, it is standard but if you prefer power output of 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque (who doesn’t), a 6.2-liter V-8 is available. Both of the engines have the carmaker’s EcoTec3 technologies with VVT, active fuel management, and of course, direct fuel injection. They’re teamed up with the 8L90, eight-speed automatic shifter. As for the EPA ratings, the 6.2-liter engine is rated at 15 mg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
