After long period of rumors, leaks, and spy shots, Cadillac finally confirmed that the concept of the CT6 luxury sedan would be turned into reality. The upcoming 2017 Cadillac CT6 will be similar in size as many other European models. For example, its overall length and wheelbase will be similar to that of the BMW 7-Series’. It will be underpinned by an aluminum-intensive platform to which it owes its light weight. Whether or not Cadillac’s strategy and plan will be good for the long run remains to be seen. We think that thanks this luxury sedan will become really successful and popular among customers. The rest remains to be seen in the following article.
Exterior of 2017 Cadillac CT6
We believed that the 2017 Cadillac CT6 will be based on the Elmiraj Concept but GM boss clearly announced that it won’t be the case. Apparently, the newcomer will be based on an improved version of the Art and Science design theme, the same design theme of the ATS and CTS models. The vehicle comes with dash-to-axle ratio and short overhang emphasizing its RWD and luxury-car proportions. The front end of the vehicle is occupied by vertical headlamps that frame the unique powertrain grille. The side profile of the newcomer is more generic looking. The rear end is traditional Cadillac’s without additional lines that would disturb sleek and angular style. As for the dimensions, it measures 204 inches in length and 74 inches in width.
2017 Cadillac CT6 Interior
Absolutely stunning, unique interior will be where the CT6 stands out from the other vehicles in the lineup. The carmaker brags about the fact that the CT6 features the best interior storage with a 2-2-liter center console storage. Honestly, we cannot figure out why this detail would be so important for luxury-car customers, but who would know. The center console is equipped with a 10.2 inch touchscreen display, while the classic instrument cluster hosts a smaller display. There is also a smaller touchpad placed on the armrest in case you are not very fond of touching the display. With the CT6 you get a 360-degree camera about which the carmaker brags about a lot. Thanks to the camera, you will be able to see all around the car. Apart from the 360-degree camera, many other gizmos like the Bose audio system with 34 speakers and a quad-zone climate control will be offered.
Cadillac CT6 2017 Engine
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 will be launched with a 3.0-liter, V-6 drivetrain under its hood. The engine will deliver 400 horses and 400 pound-feet of torque. It is more than enough to move this luxury sedan in a sporty manner. Details about fuel economy haven’t been announced but we dare to say it will probably be outstanding because the vehicle is so light and the engine has cylinder deactivation technology. A 3.6-liter V6 and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-banger will also be in the book but details about their outputs are yet to be announced.
Pricing of 2017 CT6
The base model of 2017 Cadillac CT6 with a 2.0-liter turbocharged power unit will start at $53,500.
