The luxury crossover-utility class basically started with the appearance of The Lexus RX in 1998. In the 2005, it also came as the first car in its class to be available with a hybrid system. The fourth-generation the RX, the 2016 Lexus RX 450h model, has been unveiled at this years New York Auto Show, and the hybrid model is once again a part of the RX lineup. The new midsize SUV will include various improvements that concern the design, performance, and other important improvements.

The car has a sporty looking exterior, that allows the model to be compact, energetic and conservative. Toyota has also redesigned the hood, door skins, and the tailgate in order to even more cut down the overall weight of the vehicle.

Having in mind, that they have to keep up with current Lexus design style, the engineers have redesigned the interior as well. And that means that the new hybrid now has less timber trim and is more technology focused. As far as the features go, they include an optional head-up display and 12.3 inch screen in the front, and a backseat entertainment system with two 11.6 inch screens placed on the backs of the front headrests. The new Lexus RX 450h 2016 safety features in the new Lexus RX 450h 2016 include the new Lexus Safety System+, which consists of various electronic safety programs, including Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam, and a Lane-Departure Alert. The new hybrid also comes with a 3.5 l Atkinson-cycle petrol V-6 under the hood, and the 2-motor Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system for powering the front wheels. The V-6 and electric engines are capable of producing a combined output of 305 hp, while the previous model produces 10 hp less. For the AWD models, a third electric motor will be available, for powering the back wheels. On the other hand, the 2016 RX 350 non-hybrid model features an independent 3.5 l V-6 with the same output of 305 hp, and is equipped with a same transmission as the hybrid, the 8-speed automatic.

The new Lexus RX 450h price of base model should be available with a tag with figures of $50,000 on it, and is expected that 2016 Lexus RX 450h release date be by the end of this year, or the beginning of 2016.
