Infiniti continues to compete with the Bavarian giant BMW and it will soon delight us with an excellent model which arrives as a rival to BMW’s 4 Series. This might be a coincidence but we think it is obvious that Infinitis new coupe called the Q60 to compete with the Bimmer’s 2-door coupe. The new 2016 Infiniti Q60 will be based on the lines of the 2014 Q50 sedan. Call it coincidence but the relationship between the two models is the same as the relationship between the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series. This two-door beauty will probably be powered by the same engine as its older brother Q50. Infiniti officially presented the Q60 at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. If you want to find out more details about the 2016 Infiniti Q60, the article below offers plenty of details.
2016 Infiniti Q60 Exterior
When it comes to the exterior design of the vehicle, when you first see it, you will immediately conclude that the company’s designers combined design cues of two models, the Q50 and the Q60 Concept. The Concept had slim headlights, which are now replaced by larger units, similar to the ones of the Q50. The large grille you saw on the Concept is now replaced by a smaller one. Other new features of the vehicle include refreshed side mirrors, panel gaps, and fog lamps. Unfortunately, sharp body edges are not present in the new Infiniti Q60, but yet, the beauty looks attractive and appealing. The rear end of the car is also expected to be taken down a notch. The slim taillights and cool apron are now replaced by blander units. The spoiler will remain untouched but we won’t be surprised if they replaced by a less protruding one. Even though the vehicle won’t wear sharp elements of the concept, it will still be the sportiest model in Infiniti’s Q lineup.
Interior of 2016 Infiniti Q60
The company hasn’t revealed many details about the interior design and we still don’t how much of the interior design of the concept will be used for the interior of the real model. From what was presented at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, we concluded that the cabin will be well-crafted and high-quality, and more importantly everything seems to be doable so we don’t expect many differences between the cabin of the concept and the real car.
The new Q60 will employ a 3.7-liter V-6 engine under its hood. The maximum output of the engine is rated at 330 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. However, the output might be changed since this is a redesigned model, but don’t expect it to be more than 350 hp. It is unknown whether or not the 2016 Infiniti Q60 will employ a hybrid variant as well. But if they decide to do so, the excellent 3.7-liter six-banger, a torque electric motor, and excellent fuel economy might be pretty interesting and appealing for customers.
Q60 Infiniti Release date
The 2016 Infiniti Q60 will probably go on sale in the fall of 2015. An estimated price for the new model is $42.000.
