The 2013 model year was probably the most successful year for Buick since they managed to sell over a million cars worldwide. This was the most decisive factor for the carmaker’s growth and success and that’s why they decided to delight us with another excellent crossover. The last preparations are underway and an all-new model called the Envision is almost ready to outshine and blow off the competition as soon as it sets its tires on road. So the 2016 Buick Envision will be the third crossover in the carmaker’s lineup. It will also be Buick’s first model with Off-Road driving mode. The company promises that the new Envision will deliver outstanding fuel efficiency, maybe even class-leading. Read the article below to find out full details.
Exterior of 2016 Buick Envision
When you look at the picture of the 2016 Buick Envision, you will immediately notice some of the familiar styling cues. You’re not wrong; the new Envision is loosely based on the concept unveiled in 2011 called the Buick Envision Concept. The production model has the same muscular body and hood. The front fascia represents a toned down version of the concept complemented with a great number of styling cues of the carmaker’s current design language. When you set your eyes on the front fascia, you will see a waterfall grille, fresh wing-style xenon headlights, and boomerang-like daytime running lights with LED technology. On the other hand, the rear end sports large taillights with LED technology. The company’s logo is placed just between the taillights. The thing we noticed is that the Envision has the same curved rear glass as its two older brothers. As for the side, the newcomer has its own design. It incorporates some styling cues neither seen on Enclave or Encore. 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels are offered as standard.
2016 Buick Envision Interior
The cabin of the Envision might not drive you crazy but we evaluate it as a decent place to spend time in. The carmaker brags about features like heated steering wheel wrapped in leather, active noise cancellation technology, an eight-inch touchscreen display, Lane Departure Warning, Park assist, and others. There are four separate driving modes including an Off-Road, Normal, Tour, and Sport. The cabin is spacious and offers ample of headroom, legroom, and cargo space. The rear seats can be folded down to get more cargo space. This has become a common feature in vehicles of this kind.
Buick Envision 2016 Engine
The 2016 Buick Envision will be launched with a 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder engine under its hood. The engine will be mated to an all-new six-speed automatic gearbox and permanent AWD system. It is capable of producing 256 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. The company claims that fuel economy will be rated at 27 mpg combined. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 8.4 seconds with estimated top speed of 130 mph.
