Before we shift to describing a brand new 2016 BMW 3 Series, we think it wouldn’t hurt to renew, a little, material and remind ourselves for all vehicles that are, currently, available in markets worldwide, which have been made by an utterly powerful German giant- BMW.
Besides, already, being mentioned 3 series (which presents the cornerstone of BMW’s product lineup), other available cars include the 5 Series and 7 Series, as well as the X3 and X5 crossovers. There are also models from the 1 Series models, X1, Z4 as well as the 6 Series that comes in coupe, convertible and a sedan referred to as the Gran Coupe. Like it isn’t enough, this Bavarian car manufacturer decided, this year, to launch its brand new “i” division of alternative powered vehicles, including here and the stunningly crafted i3 EV and green-oriented i8 plug-in hybrid sports car. Worth of mentioned, certainly, is a BMW’s pride&joy high performance M division, which offers a masterfully designed cars, such as: the M3, M5, X6 M, X5 M and 1M Coupe.
Anyway, let’s snap back to lovable BMW 3 Series. This, in a way, novelty will come with a true variety of minor updates, mainly cosmetic ones. These minor improvements refer to, pretty equally, the interior and exterior. Not to forget to mention the engine range, which is going to come along with a slightly more potent engine range. And, also, it is planned that all of the vehicles from the 2016 BMW 3 Series receive slightly revised tuning of the suspension and steering, and BMW officials claim it will have a direct result of much more improved general handling characteristics without a loss of ride comfort. Having in our minds that this very lineup presents the culmination of 40 years of 3 Series’ heritage, now with all-new engines, more dynamic capability and slightly revised looks has some chance to maintain its leading position as the best-selling series of all BMW series.
Interior, Exterior & Appearance of 2016 BMW 3 Series
It is pretty hard to avoid mention that brand new and the mid-life update 2016 BMW 3 Series, comes in a time when its main competitor Mercedes Benz C-Class occupies a leading position, at least, when it comes to the local sales. The real question here is: Will the Bavarian car maker archive to outshine its German nemesis? The time will show, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
The very first thought that comes in our mind that the BMW’s designers wouldn’t dare to take a chance and make making significant design changes due to the success of the current look and positive feedback from customers (which is quite understandable, but a few more chances wouldn’t harm).
These minor chances, mainly reflexes in a slightly revised front and rear bumper as well as a minor refreshment suffered the headlights, which are now much more sophisticated and coupled with improved daytime running light design and comes available with an option, for full LED lighting, for the very first time.
As far as the interior refreshment concerns, there are some minor (but consistent improvements) have done. The things, such as: the use of a slightly better quality materials, much improved better lighting (and other ergonomic changes), although it may remain nearly identical to the untrained eye.
2016 BMW 3 Series Engine
Under the hood of a newly made 2016 BMW 3 Series, one will able to find the most notable alterations with a new engine lineup, improved suspension and body control. Perhaps, the biggest change in the engine section is the motor option that replaces the 335i, a new 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine, which will be able to pump up about a 240kW of power and 450Nm of torque. If this turned out to be true, the 340i will become the first BMW to utilize the new six-cylinder power unit, which will find its way to other models in due time. When it comes to diesel engines, it is planned that the 320d vehicle comes available with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, which general strength has been estimated at 140kW of power and will be able to deliver approximate about a 400Nm of torque. It is also planned that all new, green-oriented 330e plug-in hybrid hit our market, as well.
